Has anyone found any good striper action up there lately? We're going up Thursday and Friday before the media bass championship and don't want to spend the whole time harrassing our fish and though the thought of sore lipping a bunch fish in other people's spot is fun, I thought we might find a few schools of stripers to play with. Might even keep a few and have a fish fry Friday night. So, besides getting mixed in with the blacks in 2ft of water, where are the stripers?

I was up there last Satuday evening and the Stripers were up shallow near the banks just before sundown. This was off of Preston Point.

ya, we found a few small ones schooled up super shallow on either side of the bridge on the way to cedar bayou mixed in with a  bunch of blacks and spots. I've got an MS Slammer just waiting for some 30in stripers.

I caught a few 2 weeks ago, they were up shallow on point.

They were as thin as a belt.  One I caught was 20 inches long and I doubt it weighed 3lbs.  They look like they are starving to death

Every fish in that lake looks like they are starving to death.  I was suprised to catch stripers pitchin/flippin to shallow wood.  They were all very skinny and had sores on them.  Something is going on up there for sure.  Hope they get it figured out and get the fish back healthy and abundant.

Ya, we caught a bunch of them fishing tire reefs and in the far backs of creeks in <2ft of water.

The striper get skinny after every summer because they do not handle this heat well at all that coupled with the threadfin kill really hurt the stripers because they would rather not eat and stay in deep water thru the summer to avoid the hot water temps in shallow water were there were plenty of gizzard shad but as the water cooled in sept. the stripers moved up shallow to start fedding on the gizzards and they are slowly getting fatter.
