Greg Willaby here on the forum is an old school catfish nation guy. He can catch em out on Lavon. Been on several drift trips with him that landed some 40 lbrs. Good times.

only thing that worked out today is beer in hand  Grin..got the buffalo...had drift anchor, was doing about .5 mph..lots of fish on electronics...not a single stinking bite..noticed speed went up and pulled on drift anchor and it was GONE!!!!!really blew my mind..had good knot...like someone just swam up to it and untied it..never will figure that one out..should have been good day with overcast starting about 10..is 1/2 mph drift speed about right?..will try again couple days depending what this weather is going to do.

greg, Jhon tells me all the time about those lavon catfish, he said he would take me this year, cant wait to get my cherry busted. I told him, if he puts me on some big winter blues, i would show him how to get on those winter bass on hubbard........haha, im sure you know how he feels about that, he just laughs at me

No cat tourny for me this weekend...weather permitting, I'll be jerking crappie.

Does that mean we can come by and get some live bait. Crappie is awesome Flat Head Bait!!! By the way not in Texas.

I had to work yesterday morning, but my fellow former Marine/fishing buddy put the smack-down on 'em yesterday...cooler full of 3-5 pounders and quite a few between 12 and 40 pounds each...it is time.
