Me and the family are enjoying our new place on the lake.  We feed pretty much any animal around.  We feed the cows range cubes (while I treat them for flies), we feed an army of racoons, and some stray cats join in occasionally.  We have a bobcat around, but he fends for himself.  Coyotes too.

But I started feeding the catfish a couple weeks ago.  Now I have hundreds that come in to eat.  It is just crazy how many are there.  Being a public lake, I didn't think it would be like that.  I thought I could call in a few.  But it is crazy how many are there.

I have a guy that comes on weekends and helps me catch up with all the stuff around the house.  He said he would like to take some fish home.  So I went down there and fed them, went up to get the rods, came back down and caught 8 catfish in about 10 mintues for him to take home.  One was about 4 pounds.

So now I have a fresh catfish outlet.  Anyone want to bring a kid over, let me know.

Catfish, carp and Blue Gill/sun fish will come to a feeder better than white-tail deer in South Texas.  At the cleaning station on Texoma the big blues show up to eat the left overs. On one dock I know there were about 500 stripers carcusses dump. The kitties be eating well. Keep feeding them.

Tim, you need to bring your boy down and show us how to do it anyway.  You would have laughed at my bobber, no weight, small hook setup with crappie bites on the end of the hook.

that's awesome Mike! I would like to bring Blake over sometime if you dont mind. Why start him with perch, when catfish would be so much more fun!  Grin  I'll even bring ya a bag of fish food if ya tell me what kind!

just a little tip.. dont let anyone on the lake see you or they will camp out just off your shoreline! there's a few homes on Cypress Springs that had to remove their feeders off their docks because the bubbas started camping out every night off the end of their dock in the 15,000,0000,00000 candlepower pontoons... and as much as someone would want to shoot them with the scatter gun, that's not an option.. lol!

That's why I feed by hand.  No idea.

Bring him out anytime.

Yeah, bring her out.

Easiest to catch them close to sundown.  But with the right stuff, I think you can catch them anytime.  LIke I said, a bobber and a crappie nibble is what I was using.  Some weights on bottom with some stink bait would probably work like a charm.
