Fished my first ever catfish tournament today and finished 3rd with just over 100 pounds on 5.  First place was a very good sack of 161pounds on 5 and second was 112.  Trophy catfishing heating up on certain lakes. anyone interested in a trip give me shout.

Do you have to keep the cats alive? Is so where do you put five 20 pounders?

...and how do you weigh them?  Individually by hand scale?

Yes, we do have to keep them alive and they are weighed just like we do in bass fishing. They use a large tub to put them in. The scales just handle a lot more weight that the ones used for bass.  AS far as how we keep them alive there were some cool ideas for live wells rubber feed trough, 120 quart coolers, the collest one I seen was some guys rigged up a truck box and all these set up had pump in, out and recirculation.  I used a large cooler and my 35 gallon bait well.  I had a 37 and a 20 plus in the 35 gallon tank I would not have wanted to put any more in there. The cooler worked
great for the smaller than 20 group.

Is this the "CatChamps" trail on Texoma , haha . Congrats on third Tim . I've never heard of a 5 fish limit tournament for catfishermen . Sound like fun .

3 sacks over 100lbs , that's crazy .

They are pretty fun and you burn a lot less gas!
