Whitney Stripers

« on: April 17, 2011, 11:52:45 am »

Blue catfish on Lake Whitney are running anywhere from 25-45ft with the bigger blue cats coming out of 50-60ft. Caught lots of 6-10lb blues on dead minnows in 57ft of water right in the mouth of Harbor Master Marina. River channels are packed with fish on the edge of the drop but fishing is rather slow there.

Channel catfish still seem to be best picked up while drifting slowly through 12-17ft of water and across creek channel mouths. Towash and Whitney Creeks are still best areas for this even given the low lake level.

Haven't chased after Flat's yet this year, gonna give them another month to spawn then start running trot's on the flats for overnight with live perch.
