Don't know if you'll miss the black drum or not but you'll definately be on the red run at port oconner.

Thanks for the info Derick, Those are just as good of a fight as the black drum. About 3 or 4 years ago I caught 4 black drum that were 31" to 39" and hooked one that had to be over 50" but lost him, they fight like crazy. I am just trying to make sure I time it right this year if I can get the time off to go.

Thanks

When I go it will be my own from the bank. I don't want to drag my bass boat all the way down there from Del Rio.
Oh, my name is Charles but apparently I answer to Chris also. Grin

OOPS. Sorry I knew that. Never fished from the bank at port o Conner so I'm not sure how good the redfishing is in the innercoastal. I've always fished the jetties and in October it's usually real good out there.

Well normally for me its a chance to get away and relax. Throw some live mullet out kick back in the lawn chair and wait, if they bite great, if they dont thats ok too. Not that we wouldn't like go out in a boat and give it a try. The last time we went to Port O we caught a couple of small sharks and a bunch of gafftop, good fight but slimy as hell trying to unhook them. Usually I fish around the Point Comfort/Olivia area sometimes the fishing is very good and sometimes its like the dead sea. However the fishing turns out its still a great vacation from the Del Rio area.

Yea compared to to port a that area is a lot better to relax. Not near the traffic. Good luck Charles hope the fish are biting when you go.
