Turned on my front unit on Saturday to find that the water temp, and depth are reading crazy results like 1200ft deep and 25 degree water.

Should I trouble-shoot connections, or does it sound like a bad transducer?

It has two feeds.  If the transducer was bad, your temp would still work.  So I think it is a connector, or the wire was pinched and shorted.

So if my temp on the front is not working can it be fixed?  I have Lowrance electronics with the Universal Sonar in the Minn Kota.

You have to see if your US has temp.  If it does, then the temp part may be bad.  But you can attach a temp guage to your unit, and you can configure all your temp to come from that probe.
