I know some of you have a lot of knowledge in this area and I  would like your opinion? Are the expense guns worth the money or are the cheap ones just as good but don't last as long? Top feed vs. bottom feed? Which one is better? Any name brands that you would recommend?  Do I need a certain type of gun for certain paints? I plan on painting resin type swim baits and crank baits and some soft plastics. Thanks for any feed back!

Joey, i couldnt take your call earlier but will call later.  I will go ahead and post the info here too for anyone else who may be interested.

I started with a cheap brush to see if I could paint then got a good one and it was night and day.  So if you want to do this, I'd start with the good brush.  The one I use is an Iwata HP-CH.  Definately worth the $200.  This brush is gravity fed and has a fine air adjustment as well as the regular type andustment.  I use Createx paint which is water based and easy cleanup and color change.  Then clear coat with Envirotex Lite which is a pour on epoxy table laminant.

I would enjoy seeing a video.  Does anyone paint soft plastics?  Would it be the same equipment and paint?

Eric - You need to start doing some body painting.  Probably some nice perks for a single guy!

Hmmmm....interesting idea.  There would obviously be some pretty strict screening beforhand.  If a 400 pounder shows up "Sorry mam but I dont have enough paint!"

Eric,

You could always practice on Butta Cup.
I know you have grown close, and have that special bond........
