Fish care is important to those of us fishing tournaments, and not immediately releasing fish back to the water.  Livewell handling is key.  Temperature is extremely important because colder water temps carry more dissolved oxygen.  Fish need dissolved oxygen to survive.  Fish also cannot live in stagnant water in your livewell.  It needs to be occasionally recirculated and then retreated with chemicals.  I like the Sure-Life products.  Maybe you like and use others.  Important thing is that we understand how to keep fish alive in our livewells, and in good shape to survive their release back into the lake.

Hello everyone,

Well, here it is. Fish Care 101. Any questions you may have about the subject, please don't hesitate to ask on here. Any question is relevant within reason. I will be posting subjects and events coming up (fizzing study etc.) that you can see first hand and maybe even get a fishing trip in at the same time. I will also be asking Tim Cook to chime in as well as we are partners so to speak in this. He is the Texas Bass Federation Nation State Conversation Director and I am the West Region Conservation Director. So as you can see, that is part of our job. I look forward to having some good discussions in here with everyone ! Please feel free to make seperate threads as this section allows that. It is not just one thread.
