Jason had a great experience fishing a Tuesday nighter this week and it prompted a story that only another tournament angler can understand.

Wow, what a great article. I don't get to fish these days like in the past so when I do get the opportunity to fish a tournament it is special. I had that opportunity to fish the Century Bass Club night tournament last weekend on Cypress Springs and like the article discussed, just being on the lake as the sun is going down is really great. And to be able to catch some fish and weigh them in is a bounus. Then to actually place well in the tournament and have guys like Jon Harshbarger, Coy Frazier, Mark Calhoun, Nick Carraccio, Brannon Long, Philip Webb and others congratulate you is the icing on the cake. That is what makes club events so neat is being able to discuss the tournament with friends and hear all of the neat stories about everything that happened and the fish catches. And then to even have my buddy Craig call me on the cell to congratulate me on my finish. And best of all to call my 6 year old grandson. I had taken him out on Saturday before I left to the pond next door and rigged a Baby Ring Fry on a hook and had him chunking it with his snoopy pole and he ended up catching a 1 lb bass which we proudly took a picture of. I told him that by watching him and getting some tips I was able to do good in the tournament and won some money and was going to send him some for helping me. He was so excited and telling his mom and dad about helping me. It was a special end to the whole weekend.

Good story.  I've had that day once or twice but also sooo many lost before the net.
Going for that flawless performance is what keeps bringing me back.

Wow. My wife is due in the next day or so and suspended me from fishing about 4 weeks ago. I am dying to go wet a hook.  I miss those green beauties.  Maybe I'll get to see one real soon.. Grin

It's pretty cool to read something that can put your own thoughts and feelings on paper for you. It has been a tough year fishing for me but reading that just brings it all back into focus. I would not trade the time with friends and the proud moments shared with my club. When someone you respect gets on them and brings in a good sack I think it is not only a great moment for them but for the group of friends as well.
Tommy even though I had a night I would like to forget with my boat breaking down I can say I was proud and in awe at the 19+ lb sack you put together in tough conditions. It is very cool to see friends wack'em!!!

Really good article - brought back a flood of memories. Sometimes it does'nt have to be in a tournament, its just those special moments where you feel the thump and bring it home. Sometimes its the grinder tournaments where you think you don't have enough but find out your squeakers "squeak" just a little bit better. For me its about the times shared with good friends and I love it.

Welcome Todd and thanks for the article link.
