I work 10 shifts a month(at the firehouse) and fish more than that. In the last two years I would say I'm an advanced grinder. Not because I feel I like I am a better angler than anyone else, but because I have been traveling a fair amount around the nation. I have been fishing B.A.S.S. Opens,2 regions of B.A.S.S federation, some FLW, and some other tough trails. There is a huge learning curve when you get out of the state. It shows you how much there is to learn in this sport. It has been tough balancing faith, family, and work, but I love it!!

For over 20 years I was a Clubber/Grinder wantabe Pro.  Burnt out bad so I took 5 years off when my son was born.  Now I am a weekender with a grinder attitude that fishes the local stuff and opens.  My son is now 15 and he is my tournament partner, he may be a future grinder.

I'm a Grinder.

Hopefully, once I'm done with college I can move up to Pro. All depends on what I can accomplish fishing through college.

Started out more of a clubber but since we starting making baits....I'm more of a weekender now.  Only good part is, I now have all the jigs and spinner baits I can throw!!!

I started out in the 60's in high school as a weekender. We loved to fish but didn't apply ourselves. My father and me.

In late 70's I restarted with my own boat and immediately went into the grinder class.

For the last 5 or 6 years I've slowly let age and any other reason explain why I've become a weekender. It just does not feel the same when I go out when you don't have the confidence that comes with time on the water. Hopefully with warmer weather I'm going to get more "with it".

My title right now should read "every other weekender".

Grinder. However, with the economy the way it is now, I'm working more than fishing. I may start guiding part time to feed the sickness.

Heavy Clubber/grinder in the the late 80's-early90's.  15 years in Colorado part-time grinder.  6-8 one way to tournys...sucked.   We moved back to Texas and I told my wife I'd wait 1 year to get the business going down here before I started grinding again.  The Feb 11th was one year....not that i'm counting.    IT'S TIME.........tourny bug is biting bad!!!

Since the thread is at the top...

Novice... I like the "donor" term as I'm sure I'll be donating to the pot of anything I enter for awhile, and it's a great description.  Looking forward to trying my hand at this (it'll be weekender to start, for sure).

weekender, as I do not yet belong to a local bass club. Looking forward to joining one. Even after that however, my time on the water will be limited. Its worth it tho, for my beautiful 7 m.o. daughter  Grin

I'm a grinder.  I teach school and have weekends off.  I haven't been home on a Saturday in about 3 years.  I fish the Opens, Bassmaster Weekend Series, BFL, and everything else Toledo and Rayburn have to offer.  I would be happy if I could just fish Toledo Bend everyday for the rest of my life.

I don't know about cashing a check every weekend, but I'm a grinder.  If I didn't have to work to put gas in the boat, I'd be on the water everyday.   No wife or kids, yet so that helps  Grin
