For those anglers who are seeking sponsorship and or currently have sponsors and pro staff deals, there may not be a better resource for you to attract new sponsors and promote current sponsors than Facebook's new Timeline view.

There's no better way to promote your sponsors, your tournament results and what you're up to during the year.

To me this tool could completely replace an anglers website in terms of ease of use and the ability to influence.  Here's a link to the new feature.  There are a ton of new apps and features.

I can't wait until they make this available to Brands and Fan Pages.

Here's a good article on Forbes that can start the wheels turning for those of you with Brand/Fan pages.

I still think the overall layout is way too "busy"..  Part of why I haven't adapted it to my profile yet, but guess I will look into doing so.

It's obviously more visual but in the end it navigates better and has more features.  Takes a little getting used to.  What has consistently been the problem for Athletes with larger brands and fan bases is that they had to move away from personal pages and move to Fan pages to be able to handle larger friend/follower requests.

However, now with timeline and the subscriber feature personal pages can have unlimited reach.

Here's Tebow's  Grin for an example.

1.5 million subscribers on his personal page and utilizing timeline.

I can assure you that there are more people visiting/engaging with his Facebook page than his actual website.  So it's a very powerful tool.

Go to Tebow's page and scroll down to the post on Dec 6th about his book.  Look at what he's able to accomplish graphically with one post and get 7800 likes, 800+ comments and 500+ shares.

Think he's moving any books?  Like I said, can't wait until this resource is available to brands.

social media is definitely where its at. I had several larger clients close up their personal websites and go strictly to facebook.

I use it to promote my realtor page, works well and you can reach a far greater and more targetted area on facebook than anywhere else on the net. Facebook advertising is also cheaper than google.
