I need your help to determine the best course of action for the BPS Wednesday Night Working Man Series on Lake Grapevine. As you know, I took over the series this season after Jody stepped down. It seems like we have struggled to draw a decent field this year and I know that several factors can impact our draw.

Here is where I need your help. I am considering lowering the entry fee to $30 per boat, with a $10 BIG BASS and $10 Jackpot option. or....

would you prefer to keep the entry fee structure were it is.

Your feedback is important and I appreciate your assistance as always.

Can we start fishing as soon as you say it's go time? No more sitting, waiting, wishing, for 30 minutes.

I like the 30-10-10 too. My biggest reason for not making it to more is time though.

No, the reason is don't have a solid partner ever week. Last year I was at both nights most of the time till I had partner problems. I don't fish by my self

My vote is 30/10/10.  It's not about the money to me.......fun, friendly competition, and camaraderie is what I'm after.  This way it would cost an individual a whopping $15 to fish if they elected not to buy in on BB and jackpot option.  The majority of the weeknight tourneys around the metroplex are about $25-$30/boat.  I also agree that 6:30pm-10:00pm would be better hours, too.  If this change would generate more interest and participation, I believe you would be headed in the right direction.  I know some will totally disagree with making a change.  I believe that majority should rule here.

Thanks for the input and comments Tom. As with everything I do in regards to tournaments, it is based on what you (the anglers) desire.

I could not make the first half of the year because of my schedual with work and travel. Now that I am able to fish getting home at 11-11:30 is starting to wear on me. I like the idea of 30-10-10 as tom said its not about the money. I also like the idea of starting at 6:30 and going to 10:00. After all we are not 18 anymore. With all of the anglers that live in the area I cant understand why we only draw 8-12 boats for a Wed. nighter. If change has to be made lets make it if it will draw more boats. I can remember fishing it when Bass Champs held it and 25-30 boats was not uncommon. Also would like to see a year end championship.

Scott, I think the lower entry fee's and earlier start and weigh in times are both great ideas! Have you decided when the last one of the year will be? I'd sure like to make one of these but have commitments on Wed nights at LW through Sept. 1st.

I didn't fish many and Mike I'm sorry for that!  But the 30/10/10 would be good!  Pay out would still be good!  The times dont bother me but I think thats still b/c I'm a young guy and ya'll old farts cant take it!  Championship should be a sat nighter for like 6 hrs like its been done in the past but a 100 dollar full entry!  80/10/10!

630-930 would be awesome and would probably get a few more boats out, that have a little farther drive. As it stands right now, with weigh in at 1030, by the time you put the boat and the trailer and have to drive back to Ft Worth your getting home after 11 and in bed at midnight if your lucky.

Things have changed over the last few years as far as faces and etiquette.

It used to be about compition and the fellowship.

The lake fishes too small now and there is no courtesey practiced on a regular basis.

If a gentleman gets on a roll you better guarantee there will be a few specific individuals that have no problem fishing there all week or starting there the next week.

If someone was to win next week and say they did it up in Marshall Creek there would be boats there joining him the next week and weeks to come.

There are very few secrets left on the vine and the ones that are are cherished and don't want to be served up.

Lets face it for its size the lake is one of the most heavily fished in the metroplex if not the state.

I have participated in the night circuits since 98 and have chosen not to participate much in the last few years for the simple fact of its not worth the headache.

It sad, but now I would rather mow the yard than come battle the crowd.

I really appreciate what Laddner, Potts, Houlebek, Sanderson, Maddux, and now Gordon have done and are still trying to do, but I am not sure it can be salvaged.

I hope that I am proved wrong because when they were going well and ran right there was not much that could beat a good Wednesday night on the Vine.

What makes the Vine so great is its biggest drawback.  The fishing is close and generally pretty predictable.

My two cents and probably not worth that.

Heath. . . Good Point brother but thats on all lakes!!  Once ppl start seeing or hearing about others catching fish here!  They go running straight there!  I haven't been in the tournament scene very long but I'm sure thats hows its always been!!  I take pride in the fish that I find But if some tells me they are catching em on here or wiht this. . . I'm gonna try to put a pattern together too!!  If you were to get some advice your telling me you wouldn't use it?

Scott. . . So if I decided to fish as an ind would it be 15 bucks or 30 if the price was reduced?  And also if I decided to fish next week would it be 35 as an ind or would I have to pay the full 70??

I am considering lowering the entry fee's for the remaining events, and possibly extending the series through September.

I missed the better part of this year because of my injury. I plan on making more of these next year for sure.

Id also like to see a Grapevine Series fall trail (separate from the spring) like Sept - Nov or early Dec.
