I am in need of some info. Our bass club has been a paper tournament for a while and we are thinking about going to live weigh-ins. We have scales but no holding tanks for when the anglers are in line. How are the best way to get some holding tanks like this and is there anything else we would need..

Thanks,
John

Go to "Tractor Supply" and pick up 100 gallon rubbermaid tanks. They run $75 each. You will need an oxygen system to oxygenate the water.

Yes I am looking for waiting in line and we have around 25-30 members for a tournament.

Where can I get an oxygen system for the tanks?

It doesn't sound like you need to get the tanks.

We use the "Tournamax" by "Keep Fish Alive - Oxygenator", but it is very expensive at $1000. You can use an air compressor with hoses or an oxygen tank with seperate hoses and air stones.

John,
If you will call me I will give you all the info you need to set up your own oxygen tank system for your weigh-in's. Cheap, effective and uses the real thing. Oxygen..........

It doesn't sound like you need to get the tanks.

Why do you say that?  Because of the number of entries per tournament?  If so, I'll have to disagree.  In the warmer months, those fish need all the TLC they can get.  If you have a lot of teams show up at weigh-in at the same time you could be waiting 5,10, maybe 15 minutes.  That's too long.  There just isn't enough oxygen in the weigh-in bag to support them.

TP&W put out something ( I think it was TP&W) that said 5 bass will have 3 to 5 mintues of oxgyen in a weigh-in bag. That's not long and if one bass dies that to many. I want to make sure that we take care of the bass.
