So how you approach fihsing area lakes with all the muddy water and in some cases the spillway open? What type of presentations? I have thrown reaction baits and slowing moving baits with very little success.

When a lake is letting water out there are two basic things I've learned, one is to head up the lake into the river area's away from the spillway and the secound is to fish the inside area of secoundary points. As for the darker water go with darker baits. For me I like working something that I have to work slowly. Hope this helps you.

This time of year I look for the cleanest water that remains.  Cold and moving muddy water is bad news.

Cold moving muddy water with 100% cloud cover and a cold north wind = Go home.
